I have been coaching and mentoring since 2005, initially as an internal coach and now working independently
Work with individuals
Recently I have been involved with
- Coaching carers, helping them to overcome isolation and overload, stay motivated and make changes positively see magazine article (pdf)
I spoke about my coaching with carers work at the BACP Working with Coaching day in January 2018 and the article based on that talk was published by BACP in Coaching Today, October 2018 and can be found here (pdf) - Coaching people to develop strategies to deal with redeployment, career change decisions, career stagnation or problems managing stress at work
- Career coaching for staff being made redundant from a large local authority

Work with organisations
In addition to the above, I have recently undertaken projects such as:
- supervising/tutoring a group of managers to achieve an ILM qualification in workplace coaching
- Coaching and 360º feedback programme plus overview report, facilitating a head of service to re-focus a newly formed service post re-organisation
- Observation, feedback, 1:1 and 3-way coaching for a cohort of social work managers to improve supervision culture and practice; design of feedback questionnaire and production of evaluation report with pointers for further development.
- Personality profile/360º feedback and coaching to maximise behavioural change and performance enhancements for participants on a local authority leadership programme

Want to improve your writing skills?
Many people who are articulate and persuasive speakers, struggle when they need to make a case in writing. I have coached people who need help to express themselves and their ideas more effectively in writing perhaps because of:
- Moving into management and writing about rather than doing the work they are skilled at
- Going back into education after a long gap
- English not their first language
I can offer 1:1 coaching for individuals using their own written work
Qualifications, training and experience
- Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring
- Accredited user of Facet5 personality profiling tool.
- Trained to develop and deliver 360 Degree Feedback reports
- Mediation training and experience of running 3-way coaching sessions with individual clients and their line managers.
- A linguist by training and translator and teacher of English as a foreign language; I have a thorough grounding in English grammar, syntax and writing styles and experience of helping others to improve their written English
